                                   Parkash

Guru Angad Saheb’s parkash (birth) took place on March 31, 1504 in the village of Matte-de-Sraie (m`qy dy srwie). This village is about six miles from Mukatsur. His father’s name was Bhai Pheroo Mall (BweI PyrU m`l). Bhai Pheroo Mall was the treasurer of the governer of ferozepur.

Guru Angad Saheb’s mother’s name was Daya Kaur(
dieAw kOr), but her nickname was Ramo (rwmo). She was a very charitable and religious lady who taught her son about God.

At birth, Guru Angad Saheb was originally named Lehna (
lihxw).

In January of 1520 when Bhai Lehna was 15, he married to Devi Chand’s daughter Bibi Kheivi (
bIbI KIvI) in the village of Khadoor (KfUr). Bhai Lehna’s village of Matte-de-Sraie was destroyed during the invasion of king Babar (bwbr). So, Bhai Lehna’s family were forced to move to the village of Khadoor in 1524.

Bhai Pheroo quit his job as treasurer and opened a trading shop in Khadoor.

Bhai Lehna had two sons: and two daughters:

1) Baba Dasu Ji (
dwsU jI) 1) Bibi Amro Ji (bIbI Amro jI

2) Baba Dattu Ji (
dwqU jI) 2) Bibi Anokhi Ji (bIbI AnoKI jI)
